How To Commission A Portrait

It’s really simple to get your own unique portrait of your pet.

I will need at least three good quality photographs of your pet, these can be emailed, sent in the post in a digital format such as a disk or memory stick or sent as original photographs.

It is also very helpful if you can email me a description of the character or your pet as this will also inspire your portrait.

I will ensure that extreme care is taken with any original photographs and they will be securely returned to you by a signed for post.

The next step is to choose the size of portrait you would like. I am able to be commissioned to paint to any size but the normal size I work in are

Small (a little larger than A5), Medium A4, Large A3.

Once I have received your photographs I will contact you to discuss your portrait in more detail and it is at this point I ask for a 50% deposit. This can be paid by paypal, cheque or bank transfer.

I will keep in contact during the painting of your portrait and email you pictures of work in progress. When I feel the portrait is complete I will email you a copy of the portrait for your final approval and the remaining balance will be due.

Portraits will be carefully packaged and sent to you in a mount ready to be framed or I can arrange framing.

Photography Top Tips

Take your photographs in natural daylight.

Include a photograph with the pose and angle you would like your final portrait to take.

Try to ensure the photographs are in focus and show detail such as true colour of coat and eyes.

Try to fill the frame with your pet.
